SICK Encoders Overview
The DFS2x family of high-resolution incremental encoders provide industry standard 2 and 2.5-inch mechanical interfaces and are available as factory-configured or programmable devices. Factory-configured encoders can be ordered with TTL, HTL, or open-collector outputs as well as integer resolutions from 1 to 65,536 counts per revolution. Programmable encoders allow the user to select the integer resolution and either TTL or HTL outputs. DFS2x encoders incorporate rugged internal technology that allows them to operate over a wide temperature range and tolerate twice the shock & vibration levels of comparable encoders. The flexibility and reliability of these encoders allows you to confidently standardize on a single encoder platform for position sensing across a wide variety of applications while simultaneously reducing your spare part requirements. With many of styles and sizes to choose from, let Allied Automation assist you in selection.

Save time, space, and money with one simple device. You need only press the teach button to configure the system. No need to make machine safety difficult and expensive!
CLV65 Overview
The Sick CLV65 features a huge depth of field and the auto focus provides easy set up. EtherNet I/P, PROFINET, and Ethernet TCP/IP options available onboard and the integrated webserver make interfacing simple. Need higher or lower performance, see Sick’s many other bar code readers.
Inductive Sensor Overview
Sick’s IME extended range sensors provide more accuracy, better repeatability and a tighter hysteresis than common inductive sensors in the market. These improvements are due to ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) technology which eliminates production tolerances. The IME’s reduced sensitivity tolerance allows users to increase the distance between the sensor and the target, reducing the risk of mechanical damage. IME sensors are also more immune to high Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) signals, voltage and current spikes (burst, transients), and electrostatic discharge (ESD) than standard proxes. In addition to their superior electrical characteristics, IME sensors offer exceptional mechanical performance. The robust IME sensor housings offer a higher tightening torque rating (up to 100 Nm) than the standard sensors which reduces damage due to over-tightening of lock-nuts. IME sensors offer better shock and vibration resistance due to hot melt filling material, increasing the sensors’ life plus providing superior moisture resistance over solid epoxy fill. The WTB15 offers best-in-class background suppression performance, utilizing SICK’s latest custom ASIC: OES3. This provide users with precise adjustable background suppression – reliable detection of target objects regardless of color or reflectivity. Benefits also include industry leading protection to common factory “noise” influences: EMC, sensor cross-talk, and ambient lighting. W15 series includes WTE15 energetic sensors, WL15 retro reflective sensors, and WSE15 through-beam sensors. Mounting flexibility is prominent in the design of the W15 series. In addition to the 18 mm front mount and side mount through holes, the W15 offers a unique flush-mounting option with the included “snap-ring.” Sensors no longer need to intrude on the product flow.

Contrast Registration
The KT8L Laser contrast sensor offers precise detection of the smallest marks and objects due to a long depth of field. With a sensing distance of up to 800mm, the KT8L Laser provides more flexibility than sensors with shorter sensing distances. Two light spot sizes are available: one with a light spot < 0.3 mm for detecting small marks/targets and another light spot approx. 3 mm for detecting slightly larger objects and marks. In addition, a bar graph display showing detection reliability simplifies the teach-in process. Dynamic and static teach-in are selectable to suit individual requirements.
Markless Registration
Sick’s ML20 eliminates registration marks that waste space, ink, and detract from the label. Based on a pattern recognition principle, a taught-in image is used as a reference for the detection of a recurring contrast pattern. Setup is easy and quick.
Safety Switches
Safety switches in single-beam photoelectric, mechanical with latching or non-latching function, magnetic non-contact, and E-stop buttons are used for a range of safety applications, such as door monitoring on a machine, emergency stops, and position monitoring.
Lector 62 Series
The Lector 62/65 series provides decoding of 1D, 2D Datamatrix, and optical character recognition, reducing inventory and training.
Capacitive Sensors
Sick’s extensive family of capacitive proximity switches provide sensing for wood, plastic, liquid and other nonmetallic material.
Miniature Photo Sensor Overview
The W4 series of compact photo switches cover a number of standard and advanced functions. Need laser-like focus, close or far away detection, transparent material detection, or background suppression? W4 series sensors have these options and more.
Safety Controllers & Relays
Need a safety relay or a full safety control system? Sick is your single source to protect your operators and customers with a worldwide reputation and availability of reliable, advanced, and easy to use safety components and systems.
RFID: RFH/ RFU Series
Sick’s RFH high frequency and RFU ultra high frequency RFID readers provide radio-based identification that is not affected by contamination. Ranges up to 5 meters and maintenance-free.
Laser Overview
The W8 photoelectric series provides laser sensing in a miniature housing. The small visible laser light spot provides easy alignment and detection of small parts and at high switching frequencies. Highly advanced background suppression provides a versatile sensor for the most demanding applications.
Light Curtains | DeTec4
The deTec4 Core safety light curtain is impressive with an innovative system of brackets, no blind zones, simple to install and increased height of its protective field. The deTec4 Core provides reliable hand and finger protection at the highest PL e protection level. The deTec4 Core is also suitable for use in harsh ambient conditions thanks to the enclosure rating IP 65 and IP 67 and impressive –30 °C and +55 °C operating temperatures.
Analog Laser Overview
The DT50 is a laser based analog output sensor for applications up to 10meters. Robust metal housing, wide range of operating temperatures, immune to ambient light, and easy setup make this entry level ranging sensor attractive.
Light Curtains | C4000 Select
The C4000 Select light curtain series features integrated laser alignment, simple status display for easy diagnostics without a manual, and the optional 360 LED status indicator light eliminates mounting external signal lamps so you know when the curtain has been tripped or faulted. Up to three light curtains can be cascade together or alternatively a Sick area scanner can also be connected for the ultimate in operator safety with less wiring, effort, and expense.
Light Curtains | miniTwin
The miniTwin is considered to be the smallest light curtain in the world and features a “no dead zone” design of full protection to the ends of the light curtain. The miniTwin name comes from the twin stick design of the sender and emitter being combined in the same “stick”. This reduces inventory and makes combining multiple sets of light curtains simple and easy.
Laser Area Scanners
SICK offers the most safety laser scanners on the market, providing you more application flexibility. Laser scanners are used for non-contact monitoring of a freely programmable area. No separate reflectors are required. Installation is simple because the sender and receiver are in a single housing.
