Secure transmission of safety signals
Safe communication on the same network
CIP Safety (Common Industrial Protocol Safety) is a network protocol used in industrial automation systems to ensure the safe operation of machinery and equipment, enabling real-time safety-related communication between devices such as emergency stops, safety interlocks, safety sensors, and the safety controller or PLC. Compatible with both Ethernet/IP and CIP Safety protocols (allowing it to transmit both standard and safety signals), the Mitsubishi MELSEC iQ-R Series CIP Safety Module facilitates communication between safety devices in your industrial automation system.
ensure safe communication:
- complies with international safety standards (EN ISO 13849-1 Category 4 PL e and IEC 61508 SIL 3)
- high integrity transmission to prevent errors
- supports CC-Link IE TSN configuration on the same PLC rack
- tested with various third-party robots, PLC peer-to-peer communication, gate switches, area scanners, VFDs, and remote I/O
Simplify system design and reduce the overall cost of implementation with the Mitsubishi MELSEC iQ-R Series CIP Safety Module for the integration of safety and standard automation on a single network infrastructure.
