How do I upgrade:

In general, all of the cylinders above are all mechanically interchangeable with the corresponding mounting brackets attached. So if you are transitioning from an older ISO 6431 to a newer ISO 15552, the mounting brackets should also be replaced.
If cylinder mounted sensors are used, it is possible those will also need to be changed during the transition.

What is ISO 6431:

The International Standards Organization (ISO) establishes a metric series of mounting dimensions (basic dimensions, nominal stroke and tolerances, bore sizes, mounting styles, piston rod characteristics) required for interchangeability of commonly used pneumatic cylinders for a maximum working pressure of 1,000 kPa (10 bar, 150 psi). Applies to pneumatic cylinders with detachable mountings.

What is ISO 15552 (ISO 6431 VDMA 24562):

Basically, the VDMA specification establishes a standard for the dimensions of the basic cylinder body without the mounting attachments. ISO combined the ISO 6431 & VDMA 24562 and rolled them into the ISO 15552 standard.
